2021-From-Prez-Lynn

Hello Deanna,

Dear WEC Members & Friends,

As we approach the end of 2021, we only have one monthly luncheon remaining! Join us Wednesday October 13th, 2021 from 12:00 - 1:00pm Eastern Time for a virtual luncheon featuring Elisha Gonzalez; Vice-President Government Affairs for Fairwinds Credit Union. Register at: wecOrlando.com/Guest-Speaker

Then, on Wednesday November 10th, 2021 from 12:00 - 1:00pm Eastern Time, we will hold our Annual Business Meeting. During that session, we will hold our elections for the 2022 Executive Board. The Executive Board consists of four elected officers; President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer as well as one officer appointed by the President; the Legacy Officer. If you are interested in learning more about the Executive Board and the election process, or if you'd like to be considered for one of the roles, please connect with Sarah Shoulak and team at: [email protected]

As you know, in 2021, The Women's Executive Council with your help, was able to provide scholarships to 30 women attending school in the Central Florida area. As part of the scholarship program, we offer these students the ability to be mentored by our WEC Members. If you are interested in serving as a mentor, please reach out to Bobbi Govanus at [email protected]. This is a wonderful way to shape the lives of our future leaders and it is a great way to make a new friend. Over the years, I have mentored many of our scholarship recipients and it is wonderful to see them continue to achieve great things in their careers and lives.

Finally, I want to express my gratitude to you; our members and supporters for a wonderful year. Although it was filled with many obstacles, we came together as an organization this year, learned some valuable lessons, and had some fun! Thanks for all you do. See you (virtually) on the 13th of October!

Thank you for your support,

Laura Lynn, M.A.

Elisha is an Educator and Public Affairs Executive and represents FAIRWINDS Credit Union nationally as the vice president of Government Affairs and Community Relations and executive director of the FAIRWINDS Foundation. As Laura mentioned, we have THIRTY (30) new Scholarship Recipients, and many have already requested a Mentor. We're super excited that our students recognize the importance and value of having the wisdom of experience at their disposal. I am hosting an ongoing monthly Mentor Connect program for anyone interested in supporting these young scholars.

I hope all members will join us for our next session in October. WEC members who have mentored in the past are especially encouraged to attend and share their takeaways from previous experiences.

The commitment is one (1) hour per month. The rewards are priceless!

Please register to join us October 21st at 6pm Eastern Time HERE

We look forward to seeing you there.
