Brief History
The Women’s Executive Council of Orlando (WEC) is an association of executive women committed to serving the physical and cultural improvements of Central Florida, accomplishing this goal through the recognition and development of women. We believe in opportunity for creative leadership through new challenges affording personal growth, self-improvement and professional development.
We are dedicated to the growth of the Women's Executive Council through the support of personal and professional goals of its members.
The Women's Executive Council was founded by the late Dot Estes Ellis in 1972 to involve executive and professional women working in the downtown Orlando area with the Downtown Orlando Partnership. Our organization worked closely with local architectural firms in updating and beautifying downtown Orlando, the City Beautiful. WEC planted trees along Orange Avenue and Jackson Street and painted trash cans lining sidewalks of the Downtown area. Our new logo reflects our roots in the Orlando community.

The Women's Executive Council meets on the second Wednesday of each month (excluding December), at 11:30 am at the University Club, in downtown Orlando and is open for members and guests.
The Board meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month (excluding December) at 11:30 am at the University Club, in downtown Orlando. All members are invited to attend and it is a standing appointment for all Board Members and Committee Chairs to attend.
You may join our council meetings by registering by noon on the Monday prior to each meeting.
Fundraising
Throughout the year, we raise money for our Women's Executive Scholarship Endowment Fund will provide scholarships for women attending Valencia Community College, University of Central Florida, Rollins College and Seminole State College of Florida. Since 1999, the Women's Executive Council has awarded $103,600 in scholarship funds to women in Central Florida.

Our council sponsors Social Escapes and Events for its members throughout the year.
New members are connected to our "New Member Mentor Program" to acclimate them into our organization.
Community Outreach
WEC supports several non profit charities with annual contributions to assist in funding special projects for these organizations.
